TAKIN’ CARE of BUSINESS

feature documentary. directed by Tyler Measom

How long can you keep hope alive?

Legendary rocker Randy Bachman bought his dream guitar as a teenager and never looked back. With his fiery-orange 6120 Gretsch: "I would play things on it that amazed me, and those songs became hit songs." He had number one hits in two super-groups (The Guess Who, Bachman Turner Overdrive), tremendous financial success, a flourishing family, and an inspired career. And when the Gretsch was stolen it all came to a grinding halt. Randy's obsession with finding his stolen Gretsch takes us on a wild adventure of his next forty-five years.

Bachman’s American Woman, These Eyes, Takin Care of Business, and You Ain't Seen Nothin Yet are just a few of the seminal classic rock hits to carry you through this multi-decade rock journey of obsession, redemption, and joy. Told through interview, archive, recreation, Bachman's tremendous personal archive of his 70+ year career, and a cast of characters that grow as the search expands: including a quirky internet sleuth and mysterious Japanese composer.

“I think the guitar helped me write the music. It was a magical guitar.”
